I Can Do All Things - Even 3rd Grade
by Steve Higginbotham
August 8, 2008
Yesterday was the first day of school for our youngest daughter.  She began the 3rd grade in a new school, meeting all new people.  The night before school started, it was obvious that she was getting rather nervous as her big day was approaching.

Then as my 8-year-old daughter was getting ready for bed, she said to her mother, “Do you know what my favorite verse in the Bible is?”  “No,” said her mother.  “It’s Philippians 4:13,” and she proceeded to quote it, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”  Then she said, “You know what else?  David didn’t kill Goliath just because he hit him with that stone.  God was with him.  So I’m sure I’ll be fine tomorrow when I go to school.”

If only all of us would “connect the dots” between God’s word and our every day life!  The Bible is practical. It’s truths remind us of God’s faithfulness and power, and how he will use both to help us in our daily life.  Friends, take courage.  God is with you.

And by the way, her first day of 3rd grade went great!
